Children need parents. Separation from their parents causes poor social, emotional and physical health long into the future. What can be done to ensure that all children have safe, secure relationships?
One out of four children under five lives in poverty and many more families are struggling to make ends meet. Many parents of young children are working two jobs, are working jobs without benefits, are being paid minimum wage. The United States is the only developed country that does not have a federal policy of paid maternity or paternity leave. What actions will you take to reduce multigenerational poverty since children born into poverty are likely to stay there throughout their lives?
