The Ithaca City School District’s Child Nutrition Program is a valued Childhood Nutrition Collaborative partner. In the past year, the Child Nutrition Program has integrated salad bars into all of its ICSD cafeterias and has reworked its breakfast menu to reduce the proportion of packaged food options. There is a greater emphasis on preparing food in-house when possible (e.g. mashed potatoes, hamburger patties) and where feasible, sourcing produce from local growers (in conjunction with the Youth Farm Project).
